Equipment

What we use, day to day

Six tools that show up in nearly every visit — from a routine cleaning to implant planning.

Digital X-Rays

Up to 80% less radiation than traditional film X-rays. Images load straight into our imaging software, where we can zoom in and use precision tools to spot decay or bone changes at the earliest stage — before they cause problems.

Panoramic X-Ray (Panorex)

You sit with your chin on a small ledge while the machine rotates around your head, capturing a full 360° view of your teeth, sinuses, jaw bone, and TMJ. Catches structural issues, infections, and asymmetry that a routine X-ray simply can't see.

Intraoral Camera

A small camera gives us angles inside the mouth that simply weren't accessible a few years ago. Magnified images appear on a monitor — you see exactly what we see. It's Dr. Onyski's favorite tool for showing patients what's really going on, and it helps when documenting cases for insurance.

Oral Cancer Screenings

A quick screening at every visit, often using ultraviolet light to reveal what isn't visible to the naked eye. Especially important if you smoke or drink heavily — early detection is the single biggest factor in oral cancer outcomes.

Rotary Endodontics

For root canals — instead of manual hand files, we use a specialized electrical handpiece that cleans the canals more thoroughly and far faster. Less time in the chair, more predictable results.

Electric Handpieces

Compared to traditional air-driven drills, electric handpieces are stronger and more controlled because a motor spins the bur, not air. Decay is removed faster — your procedure is shorter, smoother, and quieter.

Why It Matters

What better tools mean for you

Less radiation

Digital sensors expose you to a fraction of the radiation of old-school film — and we only image what's necessary.

Faster diagnoses

Images appear on screen in seconds, so we can talk through what we're seeing right at your appointment.

Clearer conversations

Intraoral camera images mean you don't have to take our word for it — you see exactly what we see.

More precise treatment

Panoramic and rotary technology mean fewer surprises, more accurate plans, and gentler procedures.
